Lenten Season at Euclid UMC

This Season of Lent, we invite you to join us for a transformative worship series, “Steadfast Love: Making of A Revolution,” as we journey through the depths of God’s unshakeable love. In Lamentations 3:22-23, we are reminded that “the steadfast love of the God never ceases; God’s mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”

Sunday, March 9thHOPE, LOVE’S FOUNDATION

How Does God Do It? God laments but stays hopeful. How can we learn to do this?  Steadfast Love.  Today we make plans to change something in our life during Lent.  Starting out with a positive attitude and structuring ways to stay positive during the tough times is key.

Scripture: Joel 2:1-2, 12-15 cev in call to worship; Luke 4:1-13 (the devil couldn’t find Jesus’ breaking point) Sending Psalm 51; ”Jesus Didn’t Fail”

Hymns:  #2177 Wounded World that Cries for Healing; #2141 There’s a Song

Question: Where do you find HOPE?

Sunday, March 16th ONENESS, LOVE’S COMMITMENT

We will explore how we align ourselves to the divine path, a path of fairness and harmony. When two magnets enter each other’s space, the force to unite completely is irresistible, and together their combined strength grows greater. God’s love is that magnet, but maybe there are things in the way of us drawing closer and, therefore, experiencing Justice and peace.

Scripture: Luke 13: 31-35 “The Fox, The Hen and The Rooster”

Hymns: #2140 “Since Jesus Came into My Heart;”  #301 Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross.

Question:  What draws you to God’s way of justice and peace?

Sunday, March 23rd- TIME TRANSFORMS LOVE

How do you tell your story of faith, as a love story or an awakening? People often view it as a sudden transformation, overlooking its step-by-step progression. Christ demonstrates that time’s impact on love, for God and for neighbor, should elevate us beyond our primitive tendencies, enabling us to embrace wisdom and accept one another despite our distinctions.

Scripture:  John 12:1-8  “Mary, Mary, Mary”

Hymns: #2169 “God, How Can We Forgive;”  #2203 In His Time; #274 Woman in the Night

Question:  If you made the time, what relationship would you work on?

Sunday, March 30th- Women’s History Sunday

We are excited to welcome Rev. Danita Anderson as our guest speaker on March 30th. A lifelong Methodist from Chicago, Rev. Anderson has deep roots in the church, with her grandfather and three uncles serving as elders in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Chicago State University and a master of divinity from Gammon Theological Seminary. Throughout her career, Rev. Anderson has served in various leadership roles, including as a district superintendent and in several churches across the region. Her passion for hospitality and breaking down barriers continues to inspire all who encounter her ministry.

Sunday, April 6th- BLESSINGS AND ENDURING LOVE

God’s promised love and the love we emulate is eternal, but you can’t opt-in and out. When we allow our decisions to be led by God’s Word and Holy Spirit we break the final chain. Sin cannot make us carry the burden of oppression and we are free to live as Christ has asked. Also, how do we not burn out when we give so much?

Scriptures: James 5:1-11;  Jesus on the cross

Hymns:  #3085 “The Power of the Cross”; #292 What Wondrous Love Is This

Question: What symbol will remind you that God’s Love is forever?

Sunday, April 13th- Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 20th- Easter Sunday
