Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) @ JFON Two Brothers Roundhouse

Justice for Our Neighbors – JFON:
is a ministry of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church and advocates for immigration laws that are just, humane and righteous. It also provides legal assistance to persons who have legal issues related to their immigration

status. Presently, our lawyer is carrying 400 cases that are pending action. We invite you to help. It will cost you nothing and you will have a great time. On Sunday October 22nd, from 4-7 you are invited to attend a fund raiser at Two Brothers Roundhouse, in Aurora, IL. There will be a cash bar, music, and auction. There will be a program at 5:30 to honor the 2017 Champions for Justice recipients. If you need a ride, let us know. Others from the church will be going and we would love to car pool to save the environment. Tickets are paid for already, so just call the office and let us know if you can attend.

Day of the Dead Altar Making Workshop @ Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church

Many cultures honor ancestors and those who have passed during the fall.
Some call it All Saints or All Souls, in the east it is the Harvest Moon festival, other’s call it Day of the Dead. In some ceremonies, an altar is made from heirlooms, pictures, icons, artifacts, etc. In this workshop we will learn what various cultures use on their altars, make and personalize our own. The workshop is free, but donations are appreciated.
